About Bara


I am a Washington, D.C. based personal trainer and yoga teacher.

I teach in-person classes and train at DC's Jewish Community Center, Seabury Resources for Aging, at my private exercise space, and in client's homes. I also teach online for Around Town DC and private students.

I received my 200-hour yoga training at Tranquil Space in 2018 and my 300-hour training at Past Tense studios. I received my Personal Training and Nutrition Coaching Certification from the National Academy of Sports Medicine in 2025. I am also a senior fitness specialist and have additional training in yoga therapeutics and meditation.

When I'm not teaching, I am a freelance health journalist and write about policy, movement and wellness. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, friends and two adorable dogs.

Bara's approach

Every one has a different lived experience and therefore a different body. I meld my knowledge of yoga, personal training, functional movement, and anatomy to create classes and programs tailored to each person's individual needs and goals.

My evidence-based approach helps students move better, feel stronger, and maintain the physical capabilities that matter most in daily life.
